Men with dark skin daily care routine
We’ve said this earlier and we’re repeating it again—aspects such as your skin type, body type, hair type etc shouldn’t be a cause of worry to you. Think of your dark skin as God’s gift to mankind… For now, let’s begin with your skin tone. It’s darker than usual but manlier than the rest and Dev Patel’s proof of how much the world loves it. So, how on earth do you maintain dark skin charm?
To eliminate razor bumps that cause ingrown hair, use an exfoliating scrub
You’re probably not aware of what ingrown hair look like, so Google it. Since they’re common in Indian men, you could be suffering from them and you don’t even know. To prevent them from sprouting, use an exfoliating scrub before grabbing the razor. By clearing the debris and wading the dead skin cells away, prior to a shave, you’ll barely have chances of internal hair growth.
Dark skin tones are comparatively more prone to pimples and acne. To avoid, use a skin toner, daily
Since the quintessential Indian skin tone is oily in nature, use a toner to wash away the excess oil, close all pores and hence, prevent acne/pimples. Make this a daily habit and stay desirable, forever.
Moisturize every single day
The Indian skin tone is susceptible to drying out and looking very ash-y. So moisturize daily! Once, post a shower and two, post washing your face before heading to bed. Avoid moisturizers with strong odors or lanolin.
Ever heard of cleansing milk?
In case you’ve noticed by now, clearing away debris and keeping your skin crystal-clear is Rule 1 of maintaining a dark skin tone. Because it attracts comparatively more dirt than usual! So to add to your skincare routine, use a cleansing milk to remove the most concrete particles off your face and appear clean, green all day.
You too need a sunscreen
Men with an Indian skin tone are less likely to suffer from skin cancer, as compared to the fairer ones. Though the SPF requirement of your skin could be locked at 13.5, we suggest you opt for an SPF of 15, at least. Apply it over your body, 30 minutes before you step into the sun and reapply after two hours, especially on the neck!
